Club Career

Club(s) After being spotted playing for Ratby Groby Juniors, Emile signed for Leicester City FC youth academy as a trainee, and signing professional forms on 3 October 1995. He played 154 league matches, scoring forty times. His performances saw Heskey sign for Liverpool FC for 11 million on 10 March 2000, and despite a proposed 12 million move to December 2002, Heskey played 150 times for the Reds, scoring 39 times. Eventually, Heskey did move on, when he signed for Birmingham City FC on 20 May 2004 for an eventual 4.75 million fee, effective on 1 July. His time at St Andrew's was plagued by injury and this limited him to just 14 goals in 68 league appearances. As City were relegated, Heskey moved onto Wigan Athletic FC for 5.5 million on 7 July 2006 where he scored another fifteen goals in 81 league appearances. Heskey then signed for  Aston Villa FC on 23 January 2009 for 3.5 million, he left having made 92 Premiership appearances, scoring nine times. He did not have his contract renewed, and on 21 September 2012, he signed a one-year contract with Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets FC.
