England are the winners of the 2015 Tournoi de Montaigu
On 21 April 2015, the Football Association announced that it was withdrawing from the Sky Sports Victory Shield after 85 seasons stretching back to 1923-24. The English Schools Football Association had competed with an Under-15 team until 1998, winning it on 45 occasions (ten times as joint-winners) from 68 entries. For the past 17 seasons, the Football Association had entered its Under-16 team, and won the competition on 13 occasions (twice as joint-winners), including a record run of twelve consecutive titles from 2001-12. They would be replaced by the Republic of Ireland for the 2015 competition.

Explaining the decision, Gareth Southgate, the FA's Head of National Teams at St George's Park, said: "We are reviewing our fixture programme at all ages and it is important that with England we are able to give players an international experience that complements their club development and attempts to expose them to something different.
"At Under-16 level we may only have the boys for between ten to fifteen matches per season.
"Within that programme, it's important to prioritise exposing them to European and world opposition.

He continued: "We feel that within their club programmes, they face many of the boys that they would face in the Victory Shield and so these fixtures, whilst competitive and exciting, do not expose our boys to different playing cultures.
"Although we recognise the historic interest in these matches, we are intent on maximising the football learning of our young players, while forming the programme of fixtures for the year around the crucial academic commitments our players face at this age group."
