Club Career

Club(s) Began as a Brighton & Hove Albion FC trainee. Barry, along with Michael Standing, joined Aston Villa FC while still a YTS trainee on 11 August 1997 for £50,000, signing professionally on 23 February 1998. He went onto captain Villa and make 365 league appearances, scoring 41 goals. Despite interest from Liverpool FC in May 2008, where a £17 million fee was declined by Villa, resulting in Barry getting banned from training and stripped of the captaincy, but Barry remained another year. However, he signed for Manchester City FC on 2 June 2009 for £12 million. He had made 132 Premier League appearances, scoring six times, but failed to feature for City in their early 2013-14 campaign, so Barry joined Everton FC on a season-long loan on 2 September 2013. He made 32 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals. After his City contract expired, Barry joined Everton FC in a permanent deal on 8 July 2014, and made another 99 Premier League appearances, scoring twice, up until he signed for West Bromwich Albion FC on 15 August 2017 for an undisclosed transfer fee. In his first season, Albion relegated. He made forty league appearances, scoring twice, up until 2018-19.
