"I remember how they
walked on to the field, spotless in their white shirts and dark shorts.
Their hands in their pockets, sleeves hanging down. Yet there was about
them an air of casual grandeur, a haughtiness that was yet not haughty, which
seemed intangible. And how they played!"
- An Austrian player after the
Corinthians played in Vienna.

Notes
See notes regarding The Corinthians
Football Club
The 17 players mentioned above are those that had
Corinthians FC has their principal club. Many other players also played
for the Corinthians as a secondary club while playing for another primary
club, as well as the England national side.
Despite the claims of other historians, Corinthians only
ever managed to field three of their players at once for an England side,
against Belgium, 1 November 1923. Captain Graham Doggart, Kenny Hegan and
Alfred Bower all started.
