Description
White short-sleeved shirt with an abstract 'Community of Lions' graphic on a midnight-navy-blue crew-neck collar and a thin challenge-red-and-sport-royal-blue stripe running through the middle of it. Small 'v' cut out of the middle of the back collar meeting the red and blue stripe. 'Community of Lions' graphic on a midnight-navy-blue stripe down each side, curving away from the seam with a thin challenge-red-and-sport-royal-blue stripe overlaying down the middle of it, ending about half-way down, with a second, identical seam-stripe continuing in a line adjacent to the one above to produce a jagged effect. Emblem in centre of breastbone, with sport-royal-blue border and a white star above the emblem. Sport-royal-blue Swoosh below the emblem with the opponent's name in capitalised red lettering below the Swoosh and the date in red below the opponent's name (e.g. 5 SEPTEMBER 2020). Plain challenge-red number, bordered in midnight navy blue below it in a new font. Challenge-red number on reverse in same font, but with a continuous white line running through it and a white emblem laid over the line at the base of each digit. Surname in capitalised challenge-red lettering above number on reverse in a different font and without a border. Rectangular white label on left hip with a pure-platinum border. ENGINEERED in large pure-platinum capitalised letters, occupying two-thirds of the upper left-hand side of the label and bordered in pure platinum. Remaining third comprises a pure-platinum Swoosh. Two pure-platinum lines underneath above a ten-character serial number in pure platinum. NIKE VAPORKNIT in capitalised pure-platinum lettering on right hip.

Midnight-navy-blue shorts with a curved thin challenge-red-and-sport-royal-blue stripe down each side. Challenge-red number on left thigh, in same font as on shirt, with white Swoosh underneath. Emblem with sport-royal-blue border on right thigh.

White socks with five thin challenge-red-and-sport-royal-blue hoops, a pure-platinum Swoosh between the second and third hoop and 3 LIONS in capitalised pure-platinum lettering above it. Pure-platinum stripes along the soles and sides of the feet.

Against Denmark (both games), Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Italy (at Wembley), England's captain, Harry Kane wore a light-green armband featuring the UEFA RESPECT logo. In the semi-final and final of the European Championship, # EQUAL GAME was included above the UEFA RESPECT logo in black. The same UEFA RESPECT logo appeared on a blue armband worn by the captain in each of the other Nations League games in 2020 in which this shirt was worn, plus against Wales, Croatia, Scotland, and Hungary (at Molineux). Against Albania, Austria, Hungary (at Wembley), Italy (in 2022) and San Marino, the captain wore a white C on a blue armband. A light-green armband featuring a black C was worn against Poland, and Andorra (both games), and Kane wore CAPTAIN in black on a rainbow-coloured armband against Germany and in Hungary. In the game against Cǒte d'Ivoire, Raheem Sterling wore a blue and yellow armband, the colours of the Ukrainian flag, in support of the country following its invasion by Russia.

Variations
  • The names of England's opponents, as they appeared beneath the Nike Swoosh, were ALBANIA, ANDORRA, AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, CROATIA, CZECH REPUBLIC, DENMARK, GERMANY, HUNGARY, ICELAND, ITALY, IVORY COAST, POLAND, SAN MARINO, SCOTLAND, UKRAINE and WALES.

  • In the European Championship Final, UEFA EURO 2020 FINAL appeared in red beneath the date.

  • For the Nations League games in 2020, England wore the competition logo on the right sleeve and the UEFA RESPECT logo on the left sleeve.

  • In both games against Iceland, against Albania and San Marino, and in the first four games of the European Championship finals tournament, plus the final, England wore an alternative pair of white shorts with a curved midnight-navy-blue stripe down each side, with a thin challenge-red-and-sport-royal-blue stripe running down the middle of it, a challenge-red number on the left thigh, bordered in midnight-navy-blue in the same font as on the chest, with a sport-royal-blue Swoosh underneath and an emblem with a sport-royal-blue border on the right thigh.

  • For the World Cup qualification matches, England had the FIFA WORLD CUP Qatar 2022 Qualifiers logo on the right sleeve, and the European Qualifiers and UEFA RESPECT logos on the left sleeve.

  • For the European Championship finals, England wore the competition logo on the right sleeve and the UEFA RESPECT logo on the left sleeve.

  • For the Nations League games in 2022, England wore the competition logo on the right sleeve and the 'UEFA FOUNDATION for children' logo on the left sleeve.

England emerged from a ten-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, in the kit that they were due to have worn at the European Championship.

The white shirt was reminiscent of Nike's first England kit, back in 2013, with a navy crew-neck, but the quirky new number-font and the fact that the features on the front of the shirt were now all centralised also bore a strong resemblance to the kits worn by England at the 1998 World Cup.

It appeared first in the Under-21s' European Championship victory in Kosovo as an all-white kit, with matching white shorts. The full team also wore all white due to their first opponents, Iceland, wearing blue shorts and it was in all white that the kit became most familiar as England stormed to the final of the European Championship, agonisingly only missing out on the ultimate prize on penalties.
