Club Career

Club(s) As a Leeds United AFC trainee, Carson signed professionally on 5 September 2002.  After only two league starts, Carson signed for Liverpool FC on 21 January 2005 for £750,000, rising to £1 million.  Loaned to Sheffield Wednesday FC for part of the 2005-06 season for nine league appearances, and signed for a season-long loan at Charlton Athletic FC on 14 August 2006, another 36 league appearances followed.  Another season-long loan ensued as Carson joined Aston Villa FC on 10 August 2007 for 35 Premier League appearances.  Carson finally moved away from Anfield after only four league appearances, and joined West Bromwich Albion FC on 18 July 2008 for £3.25 million and would go on to complete 110 league appearances. On 1 July 2011, Carson was signed for Turkish club Bursaspor KD for an undisclosed fee and made 63 Turkish league appearances, he returned to England when he signed for Wigan Athletic FC on 4 July 2013 for £700,000. He played in 47 Championship appearances up until 12 June 2015, when he was signed by Derby County FC, where he has completed 81 Championship appearances up until 2016-17.
