Saturday, 13 November 2004 - England coach Sven-Göran Eriksson chooses his 22-man squad to face Spain on Wednesday in Madrid.

Monday, 15 November 2004 - Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has pulled out of the England squad with a stomach upset.  Cole, 23, will remain in England to recuperate and will not travel with the rest of the squad to Madrid.  Eriksson has no plans to call up a replacement for the midfielder, who was unlikely to have started Wednesday's game.
