    Match Report by Norman Giller

Gary Lineker fired England into the lead in the twenty-ninth minute in a match staged to celebrate 100 years of Danish football. Denmark equalised early in the second-half, the first goal conceded by Peter Shilton in six matches as he set a new England caps record in his 109th appearance before making way for David Seaman as both managers made the agreed maximum of four substitutions.
