Census Notes

According to the 1911 census, Erringtron was the youngest of two children to Errington and Elizabeth. They live at 48 Sidney Road in Tranmere, Birkenhead. His father was a rivetter.

Married to Ethel Pairman [registered in Derby, Derbyshire, March 1931].
Died July 1984 in Fulham, aged 73 years x days [registered in Fulham, July 1984].

Club Career

Club(s) Played schoolboy football in Newcastle before playing with Nun's Moor FC of the Northern Amateur League. Joined Newcastle Swifts FC in 1926 and Newcastle United FC in September 1937. Played only once in the League, 18 October 1930, against Derby County FC. He soon joined County in December 1930 in a swap deal involving Harry Bedford, and played in 219 league appearances, scoring four times. Joined Chelmsford City FC in May 1938 and onto Hereford United FC in July 1939 as player-manager. Joined Leeds United AFC in December 1945 and Bacup Borough in July 1946.

Keen was player-manager of Hereford United FC between 1939 and 1940. Keen managed Egypt between 1947 and 1948, and was in charge at the 1948 Summer Olympics. He later managed  IFK Norrkļæ½ping and Beşiktaş between 1949 and 1950.
