Unlike the 1981 yellow uniform, this short-lived jersey, which was only worn on England’s Australian tour, had no accompanying shorts and socks, so the goalkeeper wore the same shorts and socks as the outfield players. The jersey pictured above is the one issued to Joe Corrigan for the 1982 World Cup in Spain and is part of the Neville Evans Collection at www.englandmatchshirts.com (photo kindly supplied by Simon Shakeshaft). There is no Admiral logo, because the Football Association were under the false impression that manufacturers were not allowed to advertise on the kits.
