Playing Career


Club(s)
Began as a trainee at the academies of Arsenal FC and West Ham United FC before signing as a trainee with Charlton Athletic FC on 13 March 2006. After becoming the club's youngest debutant, Shelvey signed for Liverpool FC in May 2010 for £1.7m., and after making his red's debut, he was loaned to Blackpool FC on 30 September 2011, but he was recalled at the end of November. Shelvey was sold to Swansea City FC on 3 July 2013 for £5 million, up until he Shelvey joined Newcastle United FC, rivals in the Premiership relegation battle, on 12 January 2016 for £12 million, eventually earning the club captaincy. Joined Nottingham Forest FC on 30 January 2023. But left to join Turkish Super Lig side Ҫaykur Rizespor on a season-long loan deal on 14 September 2023, and made his debut as a substitute two days later against Konyaspor. Has made 24+one substitute appearances, scoring twice, up until 17 March 2024.
