football in the town and joined his local league club, Middlesbrough FC as
an amateur, turning professional in November 1954. Don Revie's Leeds United AFC paid
£53,000 for him on 6 February 1964.
'Peacock had had three knee operations in
three years.'
Plymouth Argyle FC then paid
£10,000 on 6 October 1967. Placed on the transfer-list on 2 February
1968 with only Linclon City FC showing interest in signing him. Argyle
agreed to sever his contract on 2 March 1968. |
