England Disgrace |
|
Gary Charles was imprisoned for
drink-driving and again soon afterwards for cutting off his electronic tag
to go on holiday. In September 2005, he was arrested and convicted for
assaulting a woman in a taxi office. Between the trials Charles was
in trouble for turning up to court drunk. He was subsequently fined and
given a suspended sentence and a community service order. He was then
sentenced to 12 months in prison on 17 December 2006 at Derby Crown Court.
He was serving a suspended sentence with a fine and community service, at
the time for attacking a woman at a taxi rank. Despite having been
warned a further offence could land him in prison, he menaced a doorman at
a bar, pretending he had a knife. It was the latest in a string of
drink-related incidents which included abusing police. |
