Friday, 21 August 2020 - England captain Harry Kane should be available for the Nations League games next month despite being in quarantine following a trip to the Bahamas. Tottenham striker Kane, 27, was on holiday in the Caribbean when the island was added to the UK quarantine list on 7 August. He is now in self-isolation for 14 days after returning home. Kane is expected back in Spurs training next week before their Premier League opener againsterton on 12 September.

Tuesday morning, 25 August 2020 - The trial of Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has begun on the Greek island of Syros. He is represented by Alexis Anagnostakis, one of Greece's top human rights lawyers. The 27-year-old was released from police custody on Saturday following his arrest on the island of Mykonos on Thursday after an alleged altercation with police officers. He is not obliged to be in attendance. Maguire has already pleaded not guilty. The Syros prosecutor's office said on Friday that "three foreigners" had been arrested after an alleged altercation with police officers in Mykonos on Thursday. The court listing for the case says the other two defendants are Maguire's brother Joe, 28, and family friend Christopher Sharman, 29. Maguire's father Alan was at the court hearing. Police say a file has been opened which includes accusations of "violence against officials, disobedience, bodily harm, insult and attempted bribery of an official". Greek police said in a statement on Friday that officers had tried to break up an altercation between two groups outside a bar and that the three foreigners had then verbally abused and assaulted one of the officers. The statement claimed that after arriving at Mykonos police station, the three arrested individuals then "strongly resisted, pushing and hitting three police officers" and that "one of the detainees tried to offer money so that the trial against them would not be completed".

2.00pm - Gareth Southgate names his first England squad for ten months. The 24-man squad include first call-ups for Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden, Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood and Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips. Forward Danny Ings returns after a five year absence, and goalkeeper Dean Henderson are also in the squad. On selecting 27-year-old Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, Southgate said: "I have spoken with Harry and have the insight to the story which is very different to what's being reported. I have no reason to doubt what he's telling me and it's important he knows he's got my support at this moment. Harry regrets the fact he has brought that sort of focus and attention to the team - he apologised for that - but also has his own side of the story." Midfielder Jack Grealish, who helped Aston Villa retain their Premier League status last season, has not been included in the 24-man squad. Forward Raheem Sterling has been picked along with his Manchester City team-mate Kyle Walker, who is recalled. Liverpool's Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Leicester duo Ben Chilwell and James Maddison miss out through injury.

evening - Harry Maguire has been found guilty of repeated bodily harm, attempted bribery, violence against public employees and insult after his arrest in Mykonos. His brother, Joe Maguire has been found guilty of repeated bodily harm, violence against public employees and attempted bribery. Sharman has been found guilty of insult, repeated bodily harm and violence against public employees. Maguire was given a jail sentence of 21 months and 10 days, which is suspended for three years. He said after the verdict he had instructed his legal team "with immediate effect to inform the courts we will be appealing".

Harry Maguire has been withdrawn from the England squad by Gareth Southgate, saying withdrawing Maguire was "in the best interests of all parties.  As I said earlier today, I reserved the right to review the situation. Having spoken to Manchester United and the player, I have made this decision in the best interests of all parties and with consideration of the impact on our preparations for next week."

Wednesday, 26 August 2020 - Harry Maguire's legal team has lodged a successful appeal against the guilty verdict. In accordance with Greek law, the appeal nullifies Maguire's conviction and there will be a full retrial in a more senior court. "This means that Harry has no criminal record and is once again presumed innocent until proven guilty. Accordingly, he is not subject to any international travel restrictions."

Saturday evening, 29 August 2020 - Wolves captain Conor Coady and Arsenal full-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles have been added to Gareth Southgate's England squad. Wolves centre-back Coady, 27, has playedery Premier League game for his side for the past two seasons. Maitland-Niles was man of the match on Saturday and scored in the shootout as Arsenal beat Liverpool to win the Community Shield on his 23rd birthday. It is a first call-up for both players. Both have represented England at youth level - Coady captaining his side to the 2010 European Under-17 Championship and Maitland-Niles winning the 2017 Under-20 World Cup. England's players will meet up at St George's Park on Monday.

Monday afternoon, 31 August 2020 - Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has been called up to the England senior squad for the first time. However, Marcus Rashford and Harry Winks have pulled out of Gareth Southgate's squad. Grealish, 24, has previously represented England at Under-21 level and was a member of Southgate's 2016 Toulon Tournament-winning squad. Following his withdrawal, Manchester United forward Rashford tweeted: "Gutted. Never want to let this team down but these fixtures just came a little too soon for me. I tried my best but I have to focus on starting the season at my strongest for club and country. Good luck boys, I'll be cheering you on from home." England's players met up at St. George's Park on today.
Jack Grealish becomes Southgate's 82nd squad player, equal to that of Sven-Göran Eriksson's reign, who managed 67 matches in over five years.

Saturday evening, 5 September 2020 - Raheem Sterling's late penalty gave England victory as they started their UEFA Nations League campaign in Iceland - despite the hosts squandering the chance to rescue a point by missing an injury-time spot-kick. In an chaotic end to a largely dull encounter, Sterling looked to have secured three points for manager Gareth Southgate's side when he rolled in an 89th-minute spot-kick after his shot was handled by Sverrir Ingason, who was then sent off after receiving a second yellow card. England, who had earlier been reduced to 10 men after Kyle Walker was also sent off for second yellow card, had to survive that last-gasp scare when Iceland were awarded a penalty for Joe Gomez's foul but Birkir Bjarnason was wildly off target.

Sunday, 6 September 2020 - The England team remain in Iceland and continue with their training. The players that took part in the victory against their host, took part in recovery sessions.

Monday, 7 September 2020, 12:49pm - The Football Association are investigating allegations against Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood, with the result that the pair were asked to leave the England camp. The two debutants have breached strict coronavirus protocol rules while based at their hotel in Reykjavík.
Both missed training this morning. However, both Danny Ings and should be fit for tomorrow nights match, after a collision in training. The side leave for Copenhagen this afternoon, as Foden and Greenwood leave for England.
