Diary

Monday, 19 August 2019 - Eleven overseas players have been named for the qualification match against England and the friendly match against Republic of Ireland three days later. They are Strahil Popov (Kasmpash), Georgi Pashov (Ararat), Vasil Bozhikov (Slovan Bratislava), Georgi Sermov (Chemnitz), Ivelin Popov (Rostov), Georgi Kostadinov (Arsenal Tula), Georgi Milanov (Fehervar), Nikolay Dimitrov (Urals), Bozhidar Kraev (Gilles Vicente), Kiril Despodov (Cagliari) and Simeon Slavchev (Karabakh).

Tuesday, 27 August 2019 - Head Coach Krasimir Balakov has announced Bulgaria's extended squad, from the efbet League, bringing the total number of players expected to camp at the Boyana National Football Base on 1st September to 25. The reason for the bigger list is the lack of fitness of some of the players, they will undergo extensive treatment with the medical team.
Regarding the call for CSKA
Sofia defender Nikolai Bodurov: "I am aware that I am breaking the rule I set myself - namely that I will only rely on those who play regularly in my clubs. However, I believe that with his vast experience and influence in the dressing room, Bodurov is an indispensable part of the national team. The decision is exceptional and only mine and I alone am responsible for it."
The Bulgarian camp starts on Sunday, September 1st, with Balakov giving a press conference at 11:30 am in the Amphitheater Hall of Boyana National Football Base. On Thursday, September 5, at 18:00, three players from the team will meet with the media, and the squad will leave for London by charter flight at 09:00 on September 6, where at 16:30 local time Krasimir Balakov will give a press conference, and at 17:00 is the official training, which will be open to the media in its first 15 minutes.
