Friday, 17 March 2017 - Joachim L�w has announces his 24-man squad for the friendly match against England, and the qualification match against Azerbaijan.

Monday, 20 March 2017 - Leading goalkeeper and team captain Manuel Neuer withdraws from the squad and is replaced with Kevin Trapp. Neuer is suffering with a calf injury, and is being treated by his club in Munich. The uncapped Trapp joins up with the rest of the squad at Kamen-Kaiserau Sports School.

Tuesday, 21 March 2017 - Joachim L�w announces that Lukas Podolski will captain the German's tomorrow night in the abscence of Manuel Neuer. However, Mesut Özil, Julian Draxler and Mario G�mez all miss out through injury, but should be available for the match against Azerbaijan. Özil and Draxler are suffering with hamstring injuries, whereas G�mez has a groin problem.
