Notes

Yugoslavia broke up into five states in the early 1990's--Croatia, Slovenia, FYR Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and a rump state which continued to be known as Yugoslavia.  The rump state became known as Serbia and Montenegro on the United Nations' formal ratification of the nation's change of name early in 2003, and the national team immediately began playing under the new name.

England played their last match against Yugoslavia in 1989, before the breakup.  They have since played Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro.  They have yet to meet Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
