Frustrated by limited
opportunities with England’s traditional colours, this garish paint explosion
finally unleashed the kit designer’s desire to experiment with the
goalkeeper’s uniform. Mercifully, it lasted less than a year, though its
replacement was arguably, not much better, though associated with more
success.
