  Thomas Patrick Magee
Birth 12 May 1899 in St. Helen's, Lancashire [registered as Thomas Magee, Prescot, June 1899].
Attended Holy Cross Infant School in St Helens and St. Maries' RC School in Widnes.
 

According to the 1901 census, Thomas is the oldest of two children, both sons, to James and Agnes (née Mannion). They live with Agnes' widowed mother at 15 Frazer Court in St. Helens. His father works in the Chemical industry.

 

According to the 1911 census, Thomas is the eldest of seven living, according to this return, with just his married mother. The return also reveals that his parents had  nine children in total, and that two had died They live at 86 Parr Street in St Helens. Although his father, James, is not on this return... he did however, sign it.  James was found boarding, still married, at the Milikin's, at 12 Gilbert Street in Garston, Liverpool. He is a pressman.
According to his school admission records, Thomas, and his brother James, first attended St. Maries' on 11 March 1912. They were living at 6 Pleasant Street. He left on 10 March 1913, his brother a year later.

First marriage to Elizabeth Fanny Yates [registered in West Bromwich, June 1921]. One child, June (b.1926). Elizabeth died 1932.
  According to the 1921 census, Thomas Patrick is now a professional footballer (for West Bromwich Albion FC) is now alos married, to Elizabeth Fanny, and they live at 27 Fern Road in Erdington.
According to Passenger Lists, Thomas Patrick Magee was part of the FA Tour that left Southampton bound for Quebec, Canada on 15 May 1926 on board the Empress of Scotland, they returned to Liverpool on 23 July 1926 on board the Montroyal. His address is stated as 23 Westbourne Road in West Bromwich.
Again, Tommy Magee was one of eighteen footballers on an FA Tour, courtesy of Canadian Pacific Railway Company, had left the port of Liverpool on 11 May 1931, bound for Montreal, Canada, on the Duchess of Richmond. They returned from Quebec, arriving at Southampton on 23 July 1931, on board the Empress of Britain. He was now living at 34 Westbourne Road.
Second marriage to Alice M. Littlewood [registered in West Bromwich, September 1934], four children, Thomas P. (b.13 August 1935), Ann P. (b.1937), Michael R. (b.1941) and Sandra A. (b.1949).
  According to the 1939 register, Thomas P., a riggers labourer, is married to Alice and they live at 94 Waterloo Road in Widnes, along with their son, four year old, Thomas P.
Death 4 May 1974 in Widnes, aged 74 years 357 days [registered in Knowsley, Merseyside, June 1974]. Death Registration confirms his birthdate

Playing Career

Club(s) Started playing Rugby League with the Appleton Hornets RFC and St. Helen's Recreation RFC. He then switched to football with Penksett Albion FC in 1914, then Widnes Juniors FC and Widnes Athletic FC. While serving with the Royal Engineers Labour Battalion during World War One, he was picked up and signed by West Bromwich Albion FC, signing in the trenches, as an amateur in January 1919, turning professional in May 1919. After 394 league appearances and fifteen goals, he retired in 1934.
