Club Career

Club(s) Guppy was released as a Southampton FC trainee, he was playing for Colden Common FC when he signed for Wycombe Wanderers FC on 1 September 1989. After 178 league appearances, where he scored 25 times, he signed for Newcastle United FC for £150,000 on 2 August 1994. After only one cup appearance, Guppy signed for Port Vale FC on 25 November 1994 for £225,000, and he made 105 league appearances, scoring twelve goals. Leicester City FC signed him for £950,000 on 28 February 1997, making another 146 league appearances, scoring another nine goals. Guppy then followed his manager Martin O'Neill to The Celtic FC on 2 August 2001 for £350,000, making 33 SPL appearances), returning to Leicester City FC on a free transfer on 16 January 2004 for fifteen league appearances. He joined Leeds United AFC in August for three league appearances, scoring once), then Stoke City FC from September making four league appearances and a return to Wycombe Wanderers FC from November 2005 for fourteen league appearances, and one goal.  Joined DC United FC in the MLS in 2005, played only five MLS appearances. Signed for Stevenage Borough FC in August 2006, making 27 league appearances, two goals. Returned to the MLS in the spring of 2008 to join Rochester Rapids FC as player-coach, making another 23 league appearances, scoring once, and took up a coaching role with Colorado Rapids FC on 11 November 2008;
