Began with
Stoke Boys' Brigade before joining Stoke City FC firstly as an amateur,
then turned professional on 27 November 1956. Despite both Everton FC and
Chelsea FC offering £30,000 to buy Allen in December 1959, he
went on to make 417 league appearances, during which time
time he scored twice, Allen moved to Bury FC in
October 1970 for £10,000 until November 1971. He
made 29 league appearances. Moved to South Africa
with Hellenic FC of Cape Town, from February 1972. Returned to
England in October 1973, turning out for Stafford Rangers FC. |
