Club(s) Began his career with Ravenstone United FC, Coalville Town FC and Loughborough Corinthians FC in April 1921.  Joined Leicester City FC in 1923 and 434 appearances and 51 goals later, joined Bristol Rovers in 1935 (13 appearances, 1 goal).  Later played in Folkestone and Ibstock Penistone Rovers.

Notes

Hugh Adcock was born in Coalville on 10th April 1903. A footballer who began his playing career with Coalville Town before moving to Loughborough Corinthians in April 1921 and then on to Leicester City where he remained for twelve years during the club's period as a major force in the Football League. Having gained a Division Two championship medal with City in 1924/5 he was a member of the side which narrowly missed winning the League title in 1929, playing at right-wing he both scored and assisted in many important goals. Such was his ability he was capped five times for England and twice for the Football League. In all Hugh made 460 League and Cup appearances during his career and scored 52 goals. His enthusiasm for the game did not diminish after his playing days were over, and he became trainer for Leicestershire Senior League outfits Whitwick Colliery and Coalville Town. He died in Coalville, where he had lived for most of his life, on 16th October 1975. - Coalville.co.uk
