Monday, 25 September 2000 - Borussia Dortmund defender Joerg Heinrich will miss Germany's October World Cup qualifier against England after pulling a leg muscle during the 4-0 loss to Schalke 04 over the weekend.  The club doctor said today that Heinrich will be out of action for at least three weeks.  Also sidelined for next month's match is Bayern München forward Alexander Zickler, who scored twice in the friendly against Spain last month.  Both Heinrich and Zickler played in Germany's opening World Cup qualifying match, the 2-0 victory against Greece early this month.

Thursday, 28 September 2000 - Rudi Völler chooses his 20-man squad to face England in the opening World Cup preliminary match.
