FC trainee, before signing professionally on 8 November 1994.
Loaned out to Swindon Town FC in November 1997, until January 1998.
Signed for Coventry City FC for Ł2.5m in the summer of 2000. In August
2002, signed for Blackburn Rovers FC for Ł1.5m. Following his release from
his Rovers' contract, Thompson signed for Wigan Athletic FC on 19 January
2006 and released at the end of the 2005-06 season. |
