Born 18 July 1908 in Milner Street, Platts Common, Barnsley, West Riding of Yorkshire [registered in Barnsley, September 1908].
Baptism 20 August 1908 at Hoyland Anglican Church

Census Notes

According to the 1911 census, two year-old Richard is the youngest of three children, all sons, to Frederick Booth and Charlotte (née Spinks). His father is a coalmine hewer. They live at 9 Pepper Street in Platts Common.

According to the 1939 register, Richard Spence, a police war reserve, is married and living at 23 Dorchester Road in the Northolt Park area of Ealing, the home of the Antoine's.

Married twice, firstly to Mary Tasker [registered in Barnsley, June 1935]. Mary died of a heart-attack on 7 April 1963 [registered in Ealing, London, June 1963].
Secondly, to Cecila Veronica English
(née Protheroe) on 16 March 1968 [registered in Hammersmith, March 1968]. Cecila died 10 March 1986 [registered in Wandsworth, March 1986].
Died 12 March 1983, aged 74 years 238 days [registered in Ealing, March 1983].
Height/Weight 5' 6", 9st. 2lbs [1938].
