Playing Career |
Club(s) |
Nketiah began his
playing career at Hillyfielders FC, a Sunday League team, before joining
Chelsea FC youth system as a nine-year old in 2008 and played his way
through the levels, before being released in 2015 for being 'too small'.
He joined the Arsenal FC Academy, and continued his journey through the
levels, breaking into the first team in 2017, but remained on the fringes.
He was set to join the Bundesliga with FC Augsburg on loan during the
January 2019 transfer window, but remained in London after first-team
opportunities opened up because of injuries. He did go out on loan,
on 8 August 2019, to Leeds United AFC initially for the season, but was
recalled on New Years Day, and has remained with Arsenal, signing a new
contract in 2022. During the 2024 summer transferwindow, he was subject to
a bid from Olympique Marseille, but he opted to join rivals Crystal Palace
FC on 30 August for a £30 million transfer fee. |
