15 year-old Bert is the youngest of two children living with their parents
at 188 Northam Road.
His father died in early 1908. |

according to Glasgow Electoral Registers, Herbert, described as a
professional footballer, is living at 20 Clifford Street from 1913. By
1914, he had moved on to 540 Paisley Road West. Then Herbert, with Rose,
were living at 182 Copland Road in Govan, Glasgow, up until 1921. |

Herbert, a carpenter and joiner, is still married to Rose, living at 46
Chafen Road in Southampton. His wife, Rose, died at 46 Chafen Road,
1 April 1949. |

Began with St.
Mary's Guild FC before accepting a trial and then joining Southampton FC
at the end of the 1906-07 season.
After 55 Southern League appearances, he went
north of the border and joined Rangers FC in the 1909 summer. He
made 221 Scottish League appearances,
before leaving in 1921, returning south and Queen's Park Rangers FC in
August 1921.
In early 1923, however, he returned to Southampton FC.
In January 1924, Lock joined Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic FC where he
played until the end of the season, when he retired. |
