Squad details correct up to and including Ukraine's match against Serbia on 11 February 2009.

Is it Husev or Gusev? Oleh's surname begins with the Cyrillic letter Ghe (Γ).
Ghe is generally romanized using the Latin letter G; but when romanizing Belarusian, Ukrainian and Rusyn, the Latin letter H is used.

Diary

Tuesday, 17 March 2009 - In-form Andriy Voronin and Andriy Shevchenco have been named in Ukraine's 28-man provisional squad ahead of the World Cup qualifier against England.  Liverpool frontman Voronin is currently in fine form on loan at Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, helping the club to the top of the table. Meanwhile, Shevchenco will play in England for the first time since he returned to AC Milan in the summer after a two-year stay at Chelsea. National team manager Oleksiy Mikhailichenko has also named two uncapped players in his squad, which will eventually be whittled down to 24. Metalist Kharkiv goalkeeper Oleksandr Goryainov and Dynamo Kyiv forward Artem Kravets will be hoping to make the final cut in a bid to make their debuts against Fabio Capello's side.  Ukraine are also unbeaten in the group and sit third with seven points from three games, five points behind England who have also played a game more.

Thursday, 26 March 2009 - Yevhen Seleznyov replaced Artem Kravets, who withdrew because of injury.
