Diary

Wednesday, 27 August 2008 - Croatia coach Slaven Bilić will be without Niko Kranjcar for next month's World Cup qualifiers with Kazakhstan and England.  Portsmouth midfielder Kranjcar is out for up to 12 weeks after rupturing ankle ligaments during last week's friendly with Slovenia. He is the most notable absentee from Bilić's squad for the qualifying double-header.  Bilić has kept faith with 20 of the players who were part of the Croatia squad which reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2008.  In addition to Kranjcar, goalkeeper Mario Galinović and striker Igor Budan will not be involved in the opening 2010 World Cup qualifiers.  Ivića Krizanac and Mario Mandzukic have been included in the squad as Croatia look to start the road to South Africa on a positive note.
